This small resort towards the west side of Ao Kao makes up for its not-so-catchy name with very friendly service and charming seaside cottages.
The accommodation is spread around a lawn with a few hammocks strung between the coconut trees. The rooms in front have direct sea views, but the beach is no more than a few steps away from anywhere on the grounds. The smaller tin-roofed brown wood cottages are cute and clean, with several windows, firm beds, mosquito nets, wall-mounted fans in addition to air-con and simple hot water bathrooms. More cash gets you a much larger villa with hardwood floors, wide windows shaded by light green cotton curtains, unobstructed sea views and big front porches with hammocks. The staff was very welcoming and quick to show us around even though we interrupted their lunch. Neighbouring Blue Sky Resort (formerly TK Huts) has similarly inviting accommodation, but the staff members we spoke with there were rude and pushy. We weren't able to get exact prices for low season at Holiday Beach, but significant discounts should be expected.
