Did we mention the views?
This quiet midrange resort is set on the breezy hill that makes up Ao Nid's northern side, offering great views over the bay and out towards Ko Kut.
The crimson-roofed concrete villas are spacious and cool, with white tile floors, tasteful Thai woodcarvings placed on white walls, glass doors in addition to the large windows and front patios with deckchairs and a few potted trees. The priciest villas have safes and a sunrise view from bed, but all rooms are equipped with small LCD TVs and fridges. You can walk down to the shore, though it's not much of a beach due to the mangroves. Thankfully, then, the resort offers a fairly large infinity swimming pool next to the airy restaurant, both of which offer great views. The restaurant serves good Thai and reasonable Western to go with a few cocktails, and the very polite staff member who we met had a calming presence that befits the resort's serene setting. We didn't see any signs for the resort; to get here, take a left just after the school in Ao Nid village, passing the health centre, and before long you'll see the rooftops at the end of a dirt road on the right.
