Paradise for some, but many will be turned away from the fact that the beach here consists entirely of rocks and it's a 20 minute walk to get to some sand. Nonetheless, staff at this operation are very helpful and the place doesn't lack atmosphere. The green weatherboard bungalows are pretty basic but well kept, with mosquito nets over the beds and shower but no hot water in the bathrooms. A door at the back opens out onto a mini balcony which catches the breeze and looks over the rocky beach and out to sea. Seafront rooms are infinitely better as they have front balconies and stunning views north of Lonely Bay. Bathrooms have a natural look with stones set in cement and a cold shower and bucket flush toilet. The restaurant is a typically chilled-out area with low tables, triangular cushions and slow music. The polished wood decking looks to be a great place to hang out and read a book.

new style but still great vibes - 30th December, 2009
when we arrived at paradise cottage, I first thought we are at the wrong place because it was very different to the description above. they redesigned the whole place not too long ago - new bungalows were built and the restaurant-chillout area has a new look: a lot of concrete, mixed with bamboo, hammocks and cushions. bungalows too are very nice, western-minimalistic style with green/brown colors. first impression: the place is very midrange/upstandard, and 700baht per bungalow per night is a bargain. but if you look a bit closer, the service standards do not yet meet the new look and some midrange-basics to not work: the flush toilet and the hot water shower were broken several times during our stay, also the bathroom is a bit crooked so the water does not drain off. THE BUNGALOW we had a fan bungalow which was perfect, as the breeze from the sea and concrete walls cool the place enough to have a good nights sleep. every bungalow has seaview, though the second row less seaview than the first row and less privacy on the small terrace, as the path through the place is directly in front. so if you book in advanced ask for first row. they still have the old wooden huts there though I do not know if they still rent them. THE RESTAURANT the restaurant features six ''huts'' with cushions and two hammocks each - unique place to relax, spend the morning, the afternoon, the sunset, the night and enjoy the excellent and (compared to the other places) cheap thai and western food and nice drinks. but most of the times you have to crawl out of your hammock to get the menu or a beer as service is a bit slow, nevertheless all the guys and girls are really sweet. OVERALL VIBES apparently they have a lot of regulars, and I would come back, too. for us p.c. was a great choice because it is quiet and far enough from the partyzone on lonely beach (about 20min walk along the beach) to keep a quiet and chilled-out atmosphere, they play great music, cafe del mar style, and you have a lot of privacy if you want it. still, lonely beach is close if you are in the mood for thumping music, buckets, cheap shopping, etc. would recommend it for couples and groups of friends, maybe not the best place for meeting people if you are looking for that, and for kids it would be boring I guess. true that the beachside is quite a walk away but given the partyatmosphere on lonely beach that is a plus in my view.

Best place in Lonely beach - 9th December, 2007
I have been there a couple of times. This is really the best place to stay on Lonely beach (I have visited most of the places and spoken with a lot of people staying in the guesthouses around). It is probably the last peaceful place of lonely beach. The seafront is rocky but they have opened a way to swim out in the sea. The chill out zone looks like in a decoration magazine. The resort has been build with a lot of taste. the music is sounds like at the cafe del mar in ibiza. the restaurant is really great. The only weak point are the hard beds. This place has most of the features of a mid range place. Dont believe me and have a look by yourself, you ll see.

It definetely ís paradise! - 10th November, 2006
The only comment on this place, is indeed the walk to a sandy beach.. but when you wake up in the morning (and have a seaview bungalow) there is this amazing view over the bay, you'll never get on a sandy beach. The owner and staff are superfriendly and even go partying with you at night. The food is very good and if you want to spend the day reading in a hammock with nice Jack Johnson as background music, this is the place to be. The huts are nicer from the inside than outside. They will clean your hut and can provide you with things like a towel or toiletpaper, but you have to ask for it. I found it the perfect combination between the 'busy backpackers' and 'deserted island' feeling. (and that walk is good for you anyways)

Lovely place to relax - 22nd February, 2006
The Bungalows are ok. The staff very friendly. The restaurant area is the best, lots of hammocks, and you can just lay there watching the sunset and listen to great chill-out music. I found the place a bit more quiet than the ones closer to the beach. Not too many vegetarian options on the menu though.
