Siam Hut

A little dilapidated, but very friendly and popula

Siam Hut's basic bungalows are a bit tumbledown and not too well-maintained, each with a private bathroom featuring cold shower and bucket flush toilet. They also have balconies facing out to sea. Only the front row gets a decent view and breeze though, as the others are lined up four deep like soldiers on parade. Some of the rooms have air-con, and although the bathrooms are a little dingy they are good value for this location. The beach is mainly pebbles; better sandy spots are found further north, towards Siam Beach, the upmarket sister resort. There's a huge deck right on the waterfront which can get pumping late at night, with a variety of happy hours and cocktail deals, and there's an evening BBQ as well. The staff were friendly when we passed by, with their red eyes a hint at the type of goings on here. Siam Hut can rent out kayaks or organise other activities, and there is a tattoo artist on site. Their website is well worth a read!

Siam Hut reviews

Read 4 opinions from Travelfish readers

Horrible - 26th April, 2008
Cost 700B which is crazy. Loud music, staff uninterested, huts are rundown and there's no lighting to find your way at night. Stayed one night -- wouldn't have stayed at all except got there after 21:30 and had nowhere else to go.

Cannot recommend - 13th May, 2006
Dilapidated is the understatement of the year. The huts are in pretty terrible condition and have plenty of bugs, and as such I wouldn't recommend Siam Hut for anyone. In addition, the incessant barking of the (stray?) dogs keeps you up at night.

Stunning sea front view - 15th November, 2009
It's not my 1st time at Koh Chang and this trip i only wants to stay somewhere different, after searching from all the traveling advise i found ''Siam Hut'' on lonely beach so i called them in the late morning during on my way to check if any huts available before i leave home in BKK (because they not allow to make any booking even your intention to do pre-paid) and lucky me 2 huts sea front are available ! Arrive at the pier at Ao Supparod around 10am. then get in taxi (Thai local call songteaw) took me for agesss nearly 2 hrs..till they can start off to lonely beach in case far away and if they don't have much passenger would waste their petrol actauly i think they only wanted you pay more than the rate that show on the taxi somehow after next ferry arrive and get more passenger and people on the taxi start complaining then here i am at lonely beach. At the front desk i got the last hut sea front No.7 a bit away from the restaurant because the receptionism informed every friday night they arrange beach party and would be noisy for me as i there alone. The hut rate 450 Baht.- per night with AC and hot shower that dosen't work properly, bed and mosquitos net, electric fan if you traveling just to see stunning view from the beach and sunset & sunrise, listening to the wave sound in early morning so you are at the right place to be and forget about how those things working in your hut plus food are inexpensive(but i love Chili con carne' at Tree house...he he he)you would enjoy you break.have fun !

good spot, nice beach - 31st March, 2009
We had a bungalow on the second row. It didn't look run down at all. Also, the beach in front of our hut was white and soft, not pebbly! The bungalow came with a fan, musquito net and cold water. The sitting deck is a nice area to hang out. The only draw back is their new sound installation which played loud music until after midnight, but hey, you could dance in your bed!
