Bhumiyama Beach Resort

Lovely but not the best

This larger resort was the first of its kind to hit Lonely Beach, and only time will tell if this traditional backpacker area will follow in the footsteps of other upmarket Ko Chang beaches; its certainly looking that way. Bhumiyama is comfortable and attractive, but does not compare to the level of quality and panache at Tropicana or the slightly more expensive Barali in Khlong Prao. Both hotel-style rooms and bungalows have all the usual luxuries: air-con, minibar, safety box, free tea and coffee and snazzy Sony TV and DVD set. A gorgeous open roof bathroom including tub is a highlight, as is the pleasant decor, plenty of linens and silks complemented by good use of marble and stone. The Sea View Deluxe rooms have gorgeous four poster beds too. Great luxury for its location.
