I stayed at this resort in October 2007. The location is amazing and of all the backpacker options on this beach, the rooms here seemed to be the best, although they are not objectively good value. I would seriously consider staying here again however there were a few brickbats: The bar really does pump out music until the wee small hours. Also, I found traveling as part of a small group of women, that some of the male staff at the resort were more sleazy/pestsering/ flirty than anywhere else I have been in Thailand. They were never threatening but I did get really tired of the staring and come-on lines ( I live in Thailand so I like to think that by now I can tell the difference between this behaviour and the genuine wanting-to-be-friends and practype of behaviour). the nightly BBQs and fire shows are good and the beach is beautiful. The dogs at the resort are also very cute and tame. But best not to under estimate the noise issue( and flirting if you are without a male companion).
party all night long - ![]()

They had to move all the huts from disputed land and build new huts some metres away from the previous huts. A new beach bar with a fire show has also been re-opened.
The place has nice, clean and cheap huts and the food in the restaurant is excellent.
However, if you do not like to party almost every night, this is the wrong place, as there is almost every night some party and fire show with loud music almost until dawn.
There are currently also two more expensive resorts being built on lonely beach. So I'm sure next season, they will have to rename the beach to crowded beach ...

there is however no longer a beach bar with fire shows due to a dispute with the land it was on. perhaps by next high season they will have built another but for now it is very quiet. the rooms are getting shabbier by the year but are still passably nice, and relatively cheap.

Gecko Garden
Lonely Beach, Ko Chang
The cheapest bungalow option in the Bailan Bay/Lonely Beach area, Gecko Garden is one of the only guesthouses to be on the non-beach side of the road. In a nice hillside setting, the large, attractive chill out zone encompasses a laid back, funky bar which serves late night food and pizzas and... more
Treehouse
Lonely Beach, Ko Chang
This popular backpacker hangout is due to close in July or August 2006. The owners have opened an alternate guesthouse on the hard to get to Long Beach in the south but for the meantime the original Lonely Beach stalwart remains, at least for a while. Bungalows are cheap, basic, but with a few... more
Paradise Cottage
104 Moo 1, Lonely Beach, Ko Chang
Paradise for some, but many will be turned away from the fact that the beach consists entirely of rocks and it's a 20min walk to get to some sand. Nonetheless, staff at this operation are very helpful and the place doesn't lack atmosphere. The bungalows are very basic, with mosquito nets over the... more
Sunset Huts
4/1 Moo 4, Lonely Beach, Ko Chang
Sunset Huts features reams of bungalows of all different sizes, mostly basic bamboo or wooden. Those by the sea look out over the rocky beach and have no electricity, while others further back have less poetic views, but a fan and electricity. Right at the back are a few more solid bungalows with... more
Siam Hut
100/1 Moo 4, Lonely Beach, Ko Chang
Basic bungalows are a bit tumbledown and not too well-maintained, each with a private bathroom featuring cold shower and bucket flush toilet. They also have balconies facing out to sea. Only the front row gets a decent view and breeze as the others are lined up four deep like soldiers on parade. A... more
Tharnsilah Bungalows
Lonely Beach, Ko Chang
Tharnsilah has very basic wooden and bamboo bungalows along the rocky shoreline. These have no fan and no electricity supplies, but a balcony vista that catches the breeze. Further back slightly off the beach are another set of bungalows which do have electricity and a... more
