What we say:

Ban Mae has had a makeover in recent years. Without totally excelling they have managed a cluster of small but cosy bungalows set in a tranquil and serene garden with a large pond centre stage. The rooms are well made and kept very clean, and have small private balconies attached. All rooms have air-con and private bathrooms with hot water showers. It's well worth asking about the sea front rooms -- one of them is literally in the sea and has amazing views, though it can be noisy at high tide. Small shrubs and jungle plants merge with the shorefront mangroves to provide the desert island feel, and the sights and sounds of the birds add to the location. A small sandy beach area fringes the mangroves and has access for swimmers -- though it's a bit rocky by the looks of things. A restaurant type sala sits on the shore, serving Thai food and a few western breakfast items such as egg and toast -- but not much more. They have a load of kayaks available and can provide a guide if you're unsure what your doing.
