Trad Hotel
An old style Thai hotel

What we say:
The old Chinese style building feels like an ancient hospital or possibly a prison, just older and grottier. Fan rooms feature a small tv broadcasting in Thai, a surprisingly soft bed and a Thai style toilet with cold shower. Air-con rooms are a better option, being a little more modern with better facilities, such as a towel and toilet paper to go with the hot shower and western toilet. Lighter and generally airier, they are less prison-like. Prices for fan and air-con rooms both vary widely, based on their escalating size and facilities, so take the price listing below with a pinch of salt. The hotel has the feeling that it hasn't been renovated in 30 years though, and those with a sensitive nose will undoubtedly note the musky aroma. It's right opposite the market however so in terms of location it's as central as you can get. Self drive customers should note that the ground floor has a covered car park -- very useful as most of Trat has very strict yet totally incomprehensible parking rules which often results in a parking fine!

Good value
hard to criticise at this price, I have stayed in the 220 baht fan rooms, a little bit grim as the overview says but perfectly adequate. The staff are friendly enough.
