What we say:

This low-budget guesthouse, run by a British-Thai couple, has some of the cheapest rooms in Khon Kaen, but it leaves a lot to be desired. The downstairs lobby area doubles up as a travel agent and restaurant, though when we visited it was very quiet. Upstairs there are just three rooms, plus a cat wandering around and all manner of clutter strewn across every available surface — as if it weren't obvious enough, it was explained to us that 'we're having a clear out' (said the owner, before returning to care to his beer downstairs). Rooms are certainly cheap, but expect levels of luxury that match the price — think mattresses on the floor, poor-looking door locks and a very basic shared bathroom. And that's all if you make it up the very steep stairs.
