What we say:

Occupying an imposing lime green building, SC Residence is a 10-minute walk from the river, 15-minute walk to the night market and just a one-minute walk to Boss Bar. Reception staff are friendly and a couple of them can speak limited English. Spacious rooms make up for their lack of character with clean tile floors, firm beds, TVs, desks, fridges, basic but clean hot water bathrooms and free WiFi. A cheap cushioned seat in the room we saw had the plastic liner still on, and a few tacky pots of fake flowers provide decor -- we're not talking stylish digs here. Even so, the building is newish, the rooms are funcitonal, and they offer excellent value for the money. Note that this is more of a serviced apartment style of accommodation with no restaurant. If not for its out-of-the-way location we'd give SC an 8/10.

Good spot, a little out of the way

Clean hotel, decent bed, air and good WiFi. Almost no English spoken, no b'fast as one stated (coffee only, sign says 20 baht, though you may get it free). A fair walk into town. Have to chase down a tuk-tuk when leaving as none 'hang out there'. Becaue of the location and food situation, I'd try the 'Grand Hotel' next time which got a great review from another visitor.

Incredible Value!

Wow! For 400 baht I got a big, extra clean room with all the nice touches of aircon, cable TV, fridge, soap, towel, etc. and even a limited free breakfast. There was also a balcony with a drying rack so I could do a bit of laundry, and a shower big enough for three with plenty of hot water. The location is a 5-minute walk from downtown. This is one of the nicest places I stayed on my entire trip. Recommended.

Best so far!

We have been travelling for 7 months and this is without doubt the best value for money hotel we have found. Sparklingly clean, good location and free internet in your room, I am writing this review using their bandwidth! Haven't seen much of the town as yet but it looks interesting from the bus.

Best Value

Very nice - best in-room WiFi - best value. Little lack of English but OK. Karaoke room should be converted to meeting room as needed. Highly recommended.
