Description
The long-running Grand Hotel is a pretty friendly place, not all that far at all from the river. The very chatty staff may be a little bemused when you go to check-in, but the rooms, while not outstanding are reasonable value, clean and comfortable. This is a better option than the nearby First Hotel.

Stayed here after a 12 hour bus ride and though not hte most beautiful of hotels all was clean and comfortable, and after the dreadful journey a very much needed sleep was had. Certainly dserves it's purpose!

Quite centrally located (although not on the river) the Windsor Hotel suffers from very low ceilings -- an issue that blights many of the hotels in Nakhon Phanom. As an added bonus, it had some of the most ridiculously soft mattresses we've ever come across -- you'd need a rope to drag yourself out... more

Once a dump always a dump and in this regard the First Hotel doesn't disappoint. Rooms are threadbare and the bathrooms basic, but it all works and if you want a cheap room near the river (albeit with limited water views), then this is a bearly passable option. Try for a third or fourth floor room... more
