Relaxed, scenic spot near the Khao Yai gates
The prices at Apple Camp seemed a bit steep at first, but after hanging around for a while it suddenly seemed well worth it.
Located on a scenic stretch of land with mountain views, about a half kilometre from the gates to Khao Yai, the resort is set around a grassy lawn filled with shady trees, flowers and ponds with colorful fish. The place has a soothing, peaceful, almost entrancing ambience that makes you want to stay, and the owner adds to that with her laid back and gentle demeanor. Thatched roof wooden bungalows -- some fan and others air-con -- are clean and decorated in a stylishly simple theme with bean bag chairs, bamboo floor mats and mosquito nets to go with the comfortable beds, TV, and basic but pleasant partially open air hot water bathrooms. Large fan tents with shared baths are also on offer during the dry season at a rate of 350B per person, or a flat 200B fee if you have your own tent. There's also a low key restaurant and coffee shop on site.
