Phimai Hotel
Old school

What we say:
Not far from the centre of town, it's hard to miss the Phimai Hotel's looming cement facade. The exterior is a little worn though the freshly painted rooms fare a bit better. Small fan rooms are very clean, and those on the top floor offer decent views of the town. . They also have large and strong ceiling fans, but on the down side, beds in the fan rooms are springy and uncomfortable and only air-con rooms have hot water. There's a range of options available for air-con rooms, all with more comfortable beds; the standards are good value for the money. VIP rooms feature carpet and a refrigerator for an extra 150B, so you'll do better at Paradise Apartment if you need a fridge. A small restaurant next to the lobby serves the standards. WiFi is free, but it only reaches the bottom two floors, and there's a 30B per hour charge for the computers in the lobby.

Too old and rundown
Inspected two rooms and they were not worth the money. Too old.
