Thong Tarin Hotel
Surin's top-end digs

What we say:
Situated on the same road as most of Surin's nightlife, the Thong Tarin is a large, classy spot with plenty of extras -- for a price. The 'deluxe' room (it's actually the hotel's standard offering) with light green walls and hardwood floors is sophisticated, but not quite stylish. Rooms offer plenty of space and all the amenities you'd expect at the priciest hotel in town: air-con, free WiFi, flat-screen TV, lock box, fridge, minibar, coffee/tea maker, big modern bathroom. The suite offers a lot more space to go with multiple seating areas, and the person who showed us the room seemed very excited that suites also come with a complimentary plate of fruit. Thong Tarin also has a professional staff and no shortage of extras, including an outdoor pool, computer station, regular restaurant, outdoor beer garden, and large billiards hall with several pro-size tables. That's all well and good, but with rates like these it's not exactly a steal.

Nice big room, 700B
We stayed in an air-con room with good views and only paid 700B (not Travelfish listed prices), including breakfast which was average but okay. Location is walkable to night markets and shops. It's a good deal.
