Luxury at the bus station
Hotels next to bus stations are usually dives that are only good when you're too tired to go anywhere else.
The Majestic sheds that stigma by offering some of the comfiest rooms in town along with great service and a large swimming pool. The cheapest room (they call it a deluxe but it's really a standard) that we checked out was spacious and clean, with big windows, spotless tile floors, comfortable bed, TV, free WiFi, desk, fridge and modern bathroom. Aside from a simple floral print or two, the rooms are more functional than stylish. The deluxe offers more space and a sofa. The Majestic boasts extras like the pool, which is out back and not fronting the bus station (thank goodness), fitness centre and complimentary breakfast taken at the neighbouring Majestic Restaurant.
Staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, and the location is close to many good restaurants and nightclubs. This is a fine choice if you want the extras, but the rooms are only marginally better than what you'll get for much less cash at Maneerote. If you want something slightly more luxurious, try the nearby Thong Tarin Hotel.
