Description
The rooms at the aging Charoensri Palace are quiet good value by Udon Thani's standards. All the rooms are air-con with hot water bathrooms and some of the rooms have bathtubs. The rooms are pretty cleam though, like the hotel in general they're aging. The hotel is a little away from the main bar-scene in Udon and the train station, but if you're just passing through, this is adequate.

This was an ok place to stay but I thought the room was a bit over-priced. The room did include a fridge, hot water in the bathroom, carpet (!) and a tv but the decor and facilties were old and faded. The shower rail in the bathroom fell off.

The City Lodge, conveniently located a short walk from Udon Thani train station is simply outstanding value. If you're looking for a small place to stay rather than one of the large hotels then look no further than the City Lodge. The air-con rooms here are immaculate -- kitted out with comfortable... more
Udon Hotel

The very well-located Udon Hotel has quite well-kitted out rooms at rock-bottom prices. All rooms are air-con with tv and fridge and while the hotel doesn't have a pool there is a sauna room. The Udon is not as flash as the Ban Chiang nor the Charoensri Grand Royal, but at these prices it is... more
King's Hotel
Udon Thani
The guy behind the desk at King's Hotel has a huge and welcoming smile, which is a good thing because the dumpy entranceway needs all the help it can get. Despite this inauspicious start, rooms are very good value, although they are old and in need of a good scrub. Air-con rooms have English... more
Chaiyaporn Hotel
Udon Thani
Old and rundown, Chaiyaporn Hotel has basic rooms that are none the less pretty clean, and a pretty good deal for those on a tight budget. Fan and air-con rooms are the same standard, both with a bathroom, warm shower and western toilet. A sign at reception makes it very clear that the rooms have... more
