The Ban Chiang Hotel, despite being over eight years old remains very good value. With very friendly, English speaking staff and particularly tidy rooms, this is a great mid-range open. The top floor rooms have quite good views over Udon Thani as well. All rooms are air-con and well decorated with firm beds and good water pressure in the bathrooms. The location is a bit of a walk from the train station area, but there are ample tuk tuks out the front to assist in that regard. The attached spa and massage centre is also good value while the good-sized pool, while not particularly exotic, will help you escape the scorching Udon heat.
