Bow Chiang Mai House
Quite a nice guesthouse

What we say:
Despite the odd name, Bow Chiang Mai is quite a nice guesthouse come hotel with a decent lobby and efficient staff. A small fifth floor rooftop balcony has a good view across Chiang Mai to the mountains when the air quality allows. Rooms are decently sized, clean with a choice of fan or air-con, and a TV with English-language channels, and private balconies. A small sign in rooms announces that sheets and towels are changed every three days. Downstairs is a slightly dark common seating area where daily papers and internet access are offered.

Great place!
Awesome, clean room for only 400 B. The building is really quiet and fairly central. Absolutely no complaints, staff were really friendly, no pressure for going on tours and it wasn't a cockroach infested dive like some places nearby.

The best on Soi 9
This place is so clean it looks like it just opened even though they've been open for 3 years. They close up the front in the evenings which is a major plus for safety minded folks. The common area is celan and quiet. If you want to hang out with other unshaven backpackers go across the street to SK or Lana and then come back to your nice clean affordable room. Staff are also very friendly and helpful.

Great place. Nice, quiet and clean!
Bow House is a nice GH, although it is more of an Hotel than anything else. The rooms are big, they come with spotless bathrooms, cable TV, a small balcony and some nice decorations. The prices have changed, the rooms now costing 400 and 500 for AC. The AC in itself being kind of useless, since it's not at all as warm up in the northern parts of Thailand as in the South. The warm showers are super!

Great Place, Clean, Honest, Friendly
We stayed there for 4 nights in July '06. The place is great - really clean (exceptionally clean in fact), friendly staff. Definitely recommend. A/C is good and new, which is not what I heard about other places in Chiang Mai. No pressure to buy any tours or anything like that, so you can explore Chiang Mai at your leisure.
