Nice Place Tour and Travel 2
Popular with a pool few match

What we say:
Nice Place's big sell is its pool. You can smell the chlorine from 100m away, but the backpacker room prices make it an attractive extra that few other guesthouses match. Trekking pressure here is a major issue, so if you're not planning on trekking don't be surprised to find out the place is suddenly full. The rooms are a little dank but for the price are quite passable. Non-guests can come to swim for 100B per day.

VERY Nice Place
We didn't stay here as we were already booked somewhere else, but getting off a 12hr bus trip it was nice to put our bags down. We did expect the usual hard sell for a trek, but decided to go ahead and book a trek with Nice Place anyway. The guides from Nice Place, Dee Dee and Bekham were amazing and although this wasn't our first trek out of Chiang Mai, it was an experience and one we will never forget. Once we got back from the trek they didn't disown us because we were staying somewhere else they went out of their way to make the rest of our stay in Chiang Mai unforgettable. For a very small fee they would take us to any attraction we wanted and would pick us up & drop us off at our hotel. Don't be fooled by the hard sell (this is their livliehood, these guys are genuine, trustworthy and know how to have a good time). We would have no hesitation in both staying and booking trips with Nice Place in the future. Brisbane, Australia (Oct 2009

Shocking
Violent manager who ran at my boyfriend and punched him. They have been warned by the police. We were told by him earlier it was 350B but came back with our things and were told 500B. We asked to speak to the manager again, he came in very angry and told me our English must be very bad and that we heard wrong. Rude and aggressive man, we couldn't believe it.

Hated it
We arrived 7am and were bombarded for 45 mins with anoying staff trying to get us to trek before they would even show us the room. The staff did not leave us alone and we couldn't wait to get out of there. The trek's selling point seemed to be the drinking games in the evenings..did not appeal to us. We avoided the tiny chlorine pool as it was surround by the anoying staff. The rooms had hard single beds and were dirty and a friend got bitten by fleas when staying here! definitly not one of the best places weve stayed.

Hey, so yeah, there's pressure, but it's worth it!
I had an absolutely brilliant time here! Everyone was great, including most of the staff and the trek was brilliant. Yeah a little hot and hard work for those shy of a little movement, but come on! You're spending god knows how long doing 'nothing' surely you could do with a couple of days exercise? and who knows, maybe you'd enjoy a visit to Dr O. Food isn't too shabby, at good prices and if you can get there during Songkran, then forget whatever you had planned, trust me, get here!
