Nice Place's big sell is its pool. You can smell the chlorine from 100m away, but the backpacker room prices make it an attractive extra that few other guesthouses match. Trekking pressure here is a major issue, so if you're not planning on trekking don't be surprised to find out the place is suddenly full. The rooms are a little dank but for the price are quite passable. Non-guests can come to swim for 100B per day.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. For mid-range hotels and up, always shop around online for a competitive rate. Click here to find out more about what makes Travelfish different with regards our accommodation reviews.

Hated it - 7th August, 2006
We arrived 7am and were bombarded for 45 mins with anoying staff trying to get us to trek before they would even show us the room. The staff did not leave us alone and we couldn't wait to get out of there. The trek's selling point seemed to be the drinking games in the evenings..did not appeal to us. We avoided the tiny chlorine pool as it was surround by the anoying staff. The rooms had hard single beds and were dirty and a friend got bitten by fleas when staying here! definitly not one of the best places weve stayed.
