This Australian-Thai owned place has spotless rooms all powered by solar energy. Three cheers! The management are friendly and chatty. If you're not planning on trekking, make that clear before you check in. You have to pay extra for towels and sheets as there are none on the beds. Movies are shown in the restaurant area on a large screen. The small in-house restaurant does Thai, western and vegetarian food. Vegemite is available. Reservations are accepted by telephone only.

This place works on principle of client in room preferable to booked client. Frequently over book rooms. Moved on to other guesthouse which was better in long term.

The staff is not really friendly but the rooms are clean (the cleanest we've seen in a Chiang Mai budget guest house so far, anyway). They have a nice public balcony.
