Jonadda Guest House
Spotless rooms

What we say:
Jonadda Guest House is another spot down bustling little soi 2 in the northeast corner of Chiang Mai. This Aussie/Thai-run guesthouse is well located with friendly staff and offers simple but immaculate rooms for very reasonable prices. It has a good restaurant too and all in all it's an excellent choice in its range. All rooms come with ensuite hot shower and fan.

Loved this place.....
This was a great place, with a great location and friendly staff. The owners were very personable. They DO NOT charge extra for towels or sheets. My room was 250, and in high season. Food here is very good. My stay here was pleasant, problem free and I highly recommend it as a great value.

Never Again
While the guesthouse itself is ok, The owners are so pushy and rude I would never ever stay there again. If you do not book, whatever it is you may want, through them they will make no bones about the fact that you are not welcome there!! They will tell you that they have filled up and you must leave. Pannadda is down right disrectful. The land of smiles does not apply to her. They expect you to spend all your baht with them, tours, food, motorbike rentals, laundry and anything else they can pry from you. They do not appreciate tourist!

Cheap and friendly
Room with windows and bathroom on 4th floor go for 250B at the moment; staff is friendly; the room was reasonably clean but not super clean. There are 2 noisy live-music bars right around the corner so bring earplugs. The common area is rather small and mostly for drinking. Somehow the place is rather bland.

Small but clean; great shower
I stayed in a single which was quite small, but the room was very clean. The shower had great water pressure (even up on the fourth floor), great for blasting off the grime from a trek. Excellent location and very good price.

They lied to us, but clean
I come to CM once a month and had been to lots of places before finding Jonadda. I wanted to love this place because it's clean... We were talking about Riverside Bar which has a dinner cruise. Our friends were going so we wanted to join. Pannada overheard us and said that she'd book it. Great. The ride showed up and it was for some other company's dinner cruise, twice the price. We declined. She was upset with us over her mistake. We rushed by tuk-tuk to Riverside but the cruise -- with our friends on it -- was full. The next morning we were told that they needed the room and we were told to leave. We left, turned the corner and called to see if they had rooms. They did... can't stand a liar.

Clean and friendly
I highly recommend staying here. The rooms are extremely clean and do come with sheets (lovely silk ones), solar hot water, there is a guard at the door throughout the night, Pannada and the other ladies are also very nice and helpful. I booked a trekking trip and had a great time. They hold your bags and make sure you have a room when you return. If you need anything they will help. Laundry service is quick. The guesthouse itself has lovely decor and it is very affordable. Chat with Jon and play with the dog while reading the paper in the morning. A backpacker's haven after a slew of mediocre guesthouses in other Thai cities.

Dont pre-book
This place works on principle of client in room preferable to booked client. Frequently over book rooms. Moved on to another guesthouse which was better long term.

Quite good choice
The staff is not really friendly but the rooms are clean (the cleanest we've seen in a Chiang Mai budget guest house so far, anyway). They have a nice public balcony.
