What we say:

Built in 2001, but recently fully redecorated, Amora Hotel is a stone's throw from Tha Phae Gate area yet offers stunning mountain views over Doi Suthep by virtue of its 14 floors. Overall, it's a good three-star-ish, midrange hotel. Rooms are airy, comfortable and well appointed with both the superior and deluxe ones fitted out with cable TV, air-con, safe, fridge and internet. (The deluxe rooms have the mountain views.) There is a fairly plain pool on the lower floors and a half decent, though not cheap restaurant in their airy lobby. While the location is good a minor drawback here is the abundance of ladyboys who frequent the immediate vicinity at night — the scene can become annoying. Otherwise this is a good choice and rates are very good for the quality offered. All rooms include breakfast.
