What we say:

This is the former Monti Hotel — a longstanding operation — and is situated right opposite Tha Pae Gate, on the corner of Ratchadamnoen and Moonmuang Roads. The Monti was okay but they've made a fine job of doing up this relatively large but low-key site. The hotel is best described as functional: there's no pool, the lobby is small, there's no sitting area and the d�cor is simple. But rooms are spotless, comfortable and reasonably priced, so if your priority is a good room in a central location with no frills this might be a good choice. Also refreshingly, all rooms are identical, though monthly rates did seem a bit complicated. Shop online for a discounted rate.
