Pha Tai's success has led to a series of upgrades and extensions and indeed ongoing work will take the room total up to 48. They've kept some of their older rooms as budget options, so they now cover all bases between backpacker and midrange. The hotel is well laid out, with a clever use of limited space and it manages to have a cosy feel to it. It's located near the southern end of Ratchapakinai so it's convenient for the Chiang Mai Gate night market as well as Tha Pae's bars and cafes. The old cheap fan rooms are pretty basic and give onto the carpark but the newer air-con additions are attractively decorated and well appointed. They show commendable restraint in their high season rates.
