Chiang Mai Gate Hotel
Excellent midrange option

What we say:
A popular midrange hotel, the Chiang Mai Gate manages to give a small and friendly impression despite having more than 120 rooms. It is slightly out of the way but a two-minute tuk tuk ride or 10-minute walk brings you to Tha Pae. There's a decent pool, good restaurant and great-looking rooms, all of which come with standard midrange facilities, though it is worth pointing out we failed to see any difference between their standard and superior rooms so just stick to the former. There's a fairly substantial supplement for high season but then as we said, it's popular. Rates are inclusive of tax and breakfast.
