This is one of the best looking spots we've visited in any district of Chiang Mai, a bit tucked away down Wualai — Saturday walking street — but well worth the effort to find.
Wualai Road access is next to their coffee shop and easy to miss, while the main entrance is tucked down a small soi at the rear. The hotel is still only around a five-minute walk to Chiang Mai Gate though, so it's not that far out. Tri Yaan Na Ros consists of two old teak houses beautifully restored and decorated set in a small yet attractive and well designed garden surrounding an equally attractive swimming pool. Rooms finished in polished teak manage to look genuinely old while avoiding a museum feel, and mod-cons such as flat screen TV, air-con and WiFi are available in every room. All rooms are similar and the same price with the only problem being they only have eight in total. Low season rates are an exceptional deal but we reckon you might have problems finding an available room in high season.
