Baan Jong Come Guest House
Tasteful, hidden-away gem

What we say:
This tasteful little place has a small, very pleasant jazz-filled courtyard and garden along with very clean rooms which are mid-sized and functional, though nothing to write home about. One advantage of staying here is that you can use the pool at Thana guesthouse next door. While the pool is often crowded, it's still a good spot to cool off after a day of temple-touring.

Trekking Factory
OK, the location of this place is great and there is a pool, but we found the place to have little personality and be geared mostly to big tour groups. It seems to be a popular place for and specialize in big Israli tour groups. The rooms are cheap because they want to make money from you other ways, touring and trekking. You have to search high and wide to find a rude Thai, but if you are interested in this, Amy, the manager there is the ticket. People in the Thana Hotel are much more pleasant, but if you are in the guest house you are stuck with her. She was unfriendly from the beginning and never managed a smile. Our windows would not open and she very curtly told us that they were broken and couldn't be fixed. On the third day we were informed that she needed the room because a big trekking group was arriving THAT DAY,and we had to move out without even a sorry. Wonderful because we discovered, the Smile Guest House which has a pool, a homey atmosphere, and a lovely staff. Our suggestion is to forget this place and go to the Smile.

Excellent!
We found Baan Jong Come to be a wonderful place to stay. Clean, nice-ish furniture and fixtures (particularly compared to many other places I looked at down the same soi) - a great value and location.

Splendid!
Right next to Sarah's Guesthouse, and a little more expensive but lovely. Worth paying the extra if you like the luxuries of a tiled floor and your room being cleaned every day.
