Thana Guest House
Israeli house of choice

What we say:
Thana Guest House targets itself primarily at the Israeli backpacker market, but non-Israelis are equally welcome. The guest house is actually in two buildings (either side of the road) so there's a range of room and prices. Rooms are clean and well-maintained and the management are friendly. There's a good lobby area which is always bustling with fellow travellers and you can organise a plethora of tours. A swimming pool is on site and available to be used whether you're staying at Thana or the neighbouring Baan Jong Come.

Thana Hotel
Thana Guesthouse is about the cheapest, but decent accommodation we could find with a pool (we have kids). We stayed in one of the 600B rooms (a fair bit bigger and fresher than the 350B rooms) which was ideal accommodation with small children. Plently of room in the clean bathroom, cable TV, fridge etc. Be aware that there are only stairs and no lift. Staff are very relaxed and informal, but attentive. Great hosts really, and they all speak good English 4WD tours organised for mainly Israelis, but no pressure at all to buy any of their travel services. They have an onsite outdoor restaurant that is decent, but plenty of other choices in the area as well. The restaurant area is part of a sprawling communal area that has plenty of chairs, tables and misting fans. Quite nice really. The Hotel is right near the hubhub of town, but in a reasonably quiet and leafy soi. We found the Israelis generally like to stay up late socialising and smoking in the restaurant area, but with the A/C on and the window closed noise is not really bothersome. Laundry service is available, but there are other slightly cheaper services in the same street as well. There is motorbike rental a few doors up. They also have a carpark across the street should you have a vehicle (a rarity in this part of town). Overall, for the money and location, Thana offers a great deal.

Definitely get value for your money. Would stay here again for sure. They charge 3% extra for credit card payment.
