Chiang Khong River View Hotel

A very good riverside option, Chiangkhong River View offers clean rooms with the pick of them having great views, as the name says, over the river.

As you enter you’ll find yourself on floor two of this four-storey building. This floor has the reception and small garden area plus a spacious cafe area with wonderful river views. Accommodation is located on the floor below and two upper stories, which needless to say have better views. Rooms have balconies with tables and chairs but note not all rooms have river views and those that don’t are a bit cheaper. Mekong view rooms themselves are very good for the price: bright and airy with private bathrooms, hot showers, TV and WiFi, though the TV channels are mostly Thai and WiFi can be intermittent. The unusual decor and furniture are more homestay than hotel but adequate. Staff are very helpful with excellent English spoken and they should be able to dig you up some bicycles for rent if you want to explore. Chiangkhong River View is located close to River House -- remember, we did say the names got confusing! --down Soi 12 to the southern end of Sai Klang as it passes through the town centre. A good deal.
