Description
But a shade of its former self, Boonbundan has a couple of buildings with basic aging rooms -- none of which are particularly good -- especially when compared to similarly priced offerings elsewhere in town. Nevertheless it does get a fair trade, perhaps in part due to the bunch of bars a short distance away. Better options are available elsewhere in Chiang Rai.

Relaxing and friendly - ![]()

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was not exactly 5* but it was only 170 baht per night (with private bath). Bed was a bit hard but everything was clean, and the staff did a good job keeping it that way. Pleasant little cafe for breakfast, friendly dogs to talk to, and a nice spot to sit and drink at night. The people staying there when we were there certainly didn't seem to be the types to be interested in the girly bars down the road.

Lotus Guesthouse

Korean managed Lotus Guesthouse is the first large guesthouse you'll reach on the backpacker soi, with a bunch of rooms looking onto a lawn area. Lek House

Set by a canal and a moderately busy intersection, Lek House has a range of moderately priced rooms from prison-issue cells to cute but cramped A-frames.
