Jansom House

Jansom House may look more like an apartment block from the exterior but the rooms do come with air-con, fridge, cable TV and king-sized bed, so for the price, it is very good value.

There’s no decoration and only some basic furniture but the beds are comfortable enough and showers piping hot. The WiFi router is in reception so the signal gets weaker as you go up but then rooms get brighter. Ground floor obviously has the best reception but also has the most noise from the car-park. Larger rooms cost slightly more though there’s not a lot in it while the biggest rooms – another 100 baht again – are oddly located downstairs so are also the noisiest and dingiest. Room includes a simple free breakfast – fruit, toast, tea and instant coffee but there’s a couple of tables and chairs on an outside terrace so it’s quite a pleasant spot to sit. Staff are efficient and friendly enough with a good level of English and reception also houses a small tour/information/travel desk. The location at the quiet end of Jedyod is also very convenient. Overall this is a good deal.
