R-Lampang
A great spot

What we say:
We were really impressed with this "riverside ramshackle meets Thai trendy" guesthouse just down the road from the far higher profile Riverside Guest House. R-Lampang has a bunch of rooms in a couple of buildings; the cheapest rooms (which have shared facilities) are pokey and overpriced, but the mainstay here are the air-con double rooms, which are lovingly decoracted and furnished and come with hot water bathrooms, TV with 200 channels and free WiFi. Note the low bathroom door -- we almost knocked ourselves unconscious walking into it. There are drinks available (stored in a forever locked fridge) and iced glasses (stored in an ever-locked freezer), but the food side of things appears to be purely decorative -- not that that's any great problem as there are plenty of great eats nearby. The friendly staff have limited English and the clientele are predominantly Thai. We liked it a lot here and would most definitely return. Recommended. Try for a small discount.
