Princes Guesthouse
Great view of the temple

What we say:
The wooden rooms at Prince's Guesthouse are large and bare and those in the rear concrete building are not so big. Most share bathrooms, which have hot showers and a choice of western or squat toilet. Like others on this street, Princes backs on to the Lake and with this one there is direct access out into the park. There's also a small balcony which looks out from a great vantage point right over the lake. Recently bought, the new owners are planning on doing up the building and so far have put bathrooms in most rooms. The intention is to increase the quality and the price will follow. Prince's was previously known as Tong Jai Guest House.

As Much As I Needed
I didn't spend a ton of time in the guesthouse, but it generally suited my needs. The wooden room I stayed in was a bit dusty, but had more than enough room. My friends room in the concrete building was a good deal smaller but not as dingy. Regardless of any general dinginess, the beds were adequate and the showers were hot, and the location was as good as we could ask for at the price we were paying. I'd probably stay there again just because it was good enough and I know right where it is; no guesthouse searching necessary.
