A welcome fresh entry into the Mae Hong Son accommodation scene, Jongkham Place may only have a handful of chalets but they are quite lovely wooden ones set in a pleasant garden near (but not by) the lake. The tastefully designed chalets, set well back off the road, come with en suite bathrooms, hot showers and balconies. Rooms are still in pristine condition and though it will get popular and likely often be full, for now it hasn't made its way into any guide books, so you're in with a chance. There's no restaurant or cafe, but the service is friendly and helpful and for a pleasant change you won't be overloaded with tour and trekking info. For the quality, prices are more than reasonable.
