Odd location for a decent hotel

Located down the street past the market, just before the entrance to Mae Hong Son's airport, this is an odd spot for what is a very nice hotel. It's not the most scenic part of town but very few flights are scheduled here, so there's not too much noise and it's convenient to the market if nothing else. It claims to be Mae Hong Son's first boutique hotel and, in the sense that it's small and tastefully decorated, fair enough. It's well laid out, so gives the impression of cosiness rather than crampedness, with a pleasant lobby area with WiFi and a cafe and small upstairs balcony/sitting area with a view across town. The brochure calls it a boutique guesthouse but its comfort level and prices put it firmly in the hotel category. Rooms are comfortable, with en suite hot shower and air-con.
