Description
Rooms are a little overpriced for cramped quarters, no top sheet and, for those with a private bathroom, TV with Thai programming. But the balcony out the back with priceless views across the river and distant fields goes a good way towards making up for it. There's quite a few different rooms and the prices seem to be a little 'spur of the moment', so haggle for good deals. The elderly couple that have run this place for the past 20 years are starting to encounter health problems; it remains to be seen whether their son will restore or ruin the reputation.

Yes, it's a great view of the Yuam River, but everything else was a disappointment. Staff is negligent both in customer service and upkeep. The bathrooms were small, dank, and smelly. The rooms are tiny and cramped. You're better off going across the street to Northwest Guesthouse for the same price range.

North West Guesthouse
81 Langpanich Rd, Mae Sariang
Run by the Riverhouse group that seems to be taking over Mae Sariang, this guesthouse has very cheap rooms that are basic but not grungy. Small clean rooms have clean white sheets, windows, a fan, and share bathrooms that are decent and clean, with a hot shower. Downstairs there is one air-con room... more
See View Guesthouse
149 Maesamlap Rd, Mae Sariang
You can indeed see the view, as the large grounds are bordered by the river and views over to the other side are beautiful. Unfortunately neither the accommodation nor the large country music-themed restaurant take advantage of this, with no seating areas from which to absorb the scenery. This used... more
Mit Aree Guesthouse
34/1 Wiangmai Rd, Mae Sariang
Just behind the Mitaree Hotel, the guesthouse has a wide range of accommodation alternatives, from small standard rooms in a large concrete block that smell a bit, to individual bungalows which are quite nice. Although there is a sliding scale of prices, in some instances it is difficult to... more
Kamolsorn Hotel
283 Maesariang Rd, Mae Sariang
Fairly centrally located, the Kamolsorn Hotel has a range of large, clean, old-fashioned rooms set around a small courtyard where you can park your car or motorbike. All have air-con, with cable TV and a clean bathroom with hot shower and occasionally, a bathtub. There's one family room with... more
Salawin Guesthouse
Langpanich Rd, Mae Sariang
Centrally located, this relatively cheap guesthouse is run by a friendly and welcoming elderly couple who really take you in, and although the rooms are not huge there is a vibrant feel about the place. They serve free water and seasonal fruits for their guests, and a coffee is only 10B. Rooms have... more
Mit Aree Hotel
256 Mae Sariang Rd, Mae Sariang
A nondescript hotel with oldish but clean rooms, Mitaree has a choice of fan or air-con in a fairly central location. Rooms have an optional fridge and local TV. You can spot it from afar as it's the only huge pink building in the midst of a white town centre. They have cars for rent and can source... more
