Roadside Guesthouse
Efficiently run backpacker joint

What we say:
This place is run by Mr Aekkasan, formerly of See View Guesthouse. He has an infectious love of tourism and in particular this area, so if you're looking to gain some information about Mae Sariang, this is your man. His guest house is small but humble, with a pleasant restaurant serving Thai and light western dishes, and isn't a bad spot to have a beer in the evening. The rooms are basic but clean, and the share bathrooms are particularly artistic, made from rocks and stone and quite beautifully done. The guy is also a tour guide, so you can organise trips with him to see various attractions in the area. Although being pressured into doing something other than lounging around can be a hindrance, you'll find that once you go and do, you'll be grateful you went.

Great host, great place ...
Much has already been said about Aekkasan and his hospitality - and it is true: a stay here is like staying at a friend's house. Great food, a charming outback garden and also good value in the basic but clean rooms. I couldn't say anything bad about my experience staying here, and yes I would go back with a collection of music to add to his sizable stack of CD's which plays in the bar. A true highlight along the way.
