Description
Five concrete rowhouse rooms make up this gem. For a budget guesthouse, Palm House is great value with clean, generous-sized rooms and bathrooms with hot showers for once not directly above the toilets. Small balconies lead out to a pleasant garden, all set far enough off the road to bring some peace and quiet. Rooms come with TV and have been recently ungraded to include air-con. The free coffee for guests is a nice touch.

Total rooms: 5

great place to stay -

We came upon Palm House while checking out other guest houses on the same street but this was the best one we found by far. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean (bed had a flat sheet too which is nice). We stayed in a fan room with two twin beds for 350 baht per night - it also had a tv and hot water and a nice porch in front. There was also room to park my truck inside their property which was helpful.

We found this place on our way to Prawee's guesthouse (which was fully booked) and were lucky to stay here. Very friendly owner and clean houses with good hot showers. Close to the main street (although Pai is very small) and a great bet. We paid 500B for a double room with A/C and television.

Good value -

We found this place by accident as we planned to stay at the Blue Lagoon Hotel but it was closed. We paid 400BHT a night for a very clean room with twin beds, bathroom with toilet placed well away from the shower and a little balcony with comfy chairs to sit on. It is in a great location as it is off the road enough to be quit but close to the shops, places to eat and night life.

New & Clean -

We arrived in Pai around lunch time & planned to stay by the river, but found this place by accident. Everything seems fairly new & clean, bathrooms have hot water, the decor is attractive. Beds are a little hard. There's free tea & coffee downstairs. I was definetely not charged 200 baht though! Either we had the best room or we looked like mugs as we paid 500 baht a night. I still think that was fairly reasonable though for what we had.

Breeze of Pai
Between Chiasongkram Rd and the Pai river, Pai
Breeze of Pai offers clean, decent-sized rooms with a little design flair yet without being too expensive. There's row houses or detached bungalows to choose from, all with fan and hot water. The place has a real Mediterranean feel to it, with the huts finished in a washed orange finish and the... more

Eden Guesthouse
51 Moo 1 Maeyen, Pai
Quiet and peaceful, Eden has a lovely tropical garden, complete with a small wooden sala for lounging on. Well looked after, bungalows blend in quite naturally with the foliage. They are constructed of wood and bamboo, pleasant in feel though not too large. A large private externally attached... more

Ban Sangheuan
Chaisongkram Rd, Pai
Although Ban Sangheuan is central, it's still sufficiently off the main street to be pretty quiet and peaceful, and has a pleasant view into the neighbouring temple grounds. Six bungalows sit in a horseshoe around a large dirt entrance area, sprinkled with strands of tall bamboo. Rooms are small... more

Pravee's House
95 Chaisongkram Rd, Pai
Pravee's is a great choice for low budget travellers looking for a small, clean room with fan, bathroom and hot shower and a tiny balcony out the front. There are two kinds, those in an adjoined concrete row, and slightly larger free-standing 'wooden-look' concrete bungalows. The 200B room is a... more

Ever Green Guesthouse
Corner of Rajdamrong & Wan Chalerm Rd, Pai
This is one of those guesthouses where the owners are so friendly you feel like you've found a second home. Nice but smallish teak wooden bungalows are crowded into a very green garden setting. All rooms have a fan and their own sizeable bathroom with hot shower. Communal benches outside the rooms... more

Charlie's House

Pai in the Sky
114 Moo 3, Viangtai, Pai (next to Wat Klang)
Promoted all through the north, the main service offered by Pai in the Sky is their newly established rafting tours. These trips are sold out of the front restaurant, as are treks, massage and light meals all day. A narrow garden between the non descript rooms leads from the restaurant and... more

Mr Jan's Guesthouse
68/6 Tesaban Rd, Pai
Signs everywhere in this large garden proclaim the health-giving properties of Mr Jan's herbs. There is a widely-promoted herbal sauna, one of the main selling points of the guesthouse, which at the time of our visit wasn't working, and apparently is somewhat unreliable. They offer massage and a... more

Abodaya Guesthouse
16/3 Moo 3 off Chaisongkhram Rd, Tumbon ViengTai, Pai,
Basic but pretty clean, this central guesthouse has a small number of compact rooms, all fan-cooled with hot shower and TV, although they generally don't work, have only Thai channels or if you're lucky, BBC news. Rooms centre around a small, unexciting garden. The guesthouse backs onto its popular... more

Kenter House
54/1 Sukhaphiban 2 Rd, Pai
The front of Kenter House is not very clearly marked and looks just like an unassuming Thai family home -- keep an eye out for a small hanging sign. Out the back however, are two rows of tiny but charming wooden bungalows. Inside, they are miniature, with room for barely more than a backpack beside... more

Duang Guesthouse
5 Rungsiyanon Rd, Pai,
Smack bang in the centre of town, this well-established backpacker haunt has a couple of restaurants to its name, a tour agency, and a range of very basic but cheap room options. Suan Mon Guesthouse
109 Moo 6, Pai
On the road out to Belle Villa, Suan Mon has generous mango tree-covered grounds that are a little unkempt. There's no views as such, but you are certainly remote. Tayai's Guesthouse
115 Moo 3, Pai
