Rim-Pai Cottage

Classy in a lush, riverside garden

This is three-star accommodation at budget prices and a cracking deal during low season. Beautifully decorated wooden chalets are set in a lush riverside garden where shaded paths wind through ornamental ginger and heliconias. Staff are three-star resort standard too, efficient, helpful and friendly. A very nice restaurant and bar serves up Thai and Western favourites. Prices shoot up during high season but you would be hard pushed to find accommodation of this standard at these prices anywhere in Thailand let alone Pai for the remainder of the year. Only problem here is their amazingly complex pricing system, with no less than 11 different forms of accommodation on their small plot. Their garden view chalets were being offered at 500B a night when we visited in mid 2009, going up to 1,500B during high season. Then there's garden superior cottages, superior garden chalets, garden superior something else and river deluxe, standard, superior, cottage, chalet and a woof woof here and a quack quack there…

Unbelievable - 29th March, 2006
Amazing. This was my favorite place we stayed in Thailand, and that's certainly saying a lot. The A-frames have the coolest outdoor showers and are very very clean. The grounds are amazing (watch out for the friendly turkeys that wander around) the river winds through the property and the staff is ultra friendly. They make their own soap which is so delectable I couldn't wait to take a shower each night just to smell it. Breakfast each morning is included in the price of your stay and is also delicious. I can't say enough about this place. A splurge by Thai standards but soooo well worth it. My boyfriend and I even discussed having our wedding here!
