Not far down the left hand fork, Pai Lanna is a well situated five-minute walk from the bridge with a good view over the river and valley. The garden is immaculate, with lovely sitting areas and the wood, bamboo and thatch chalets are well designed and comfortably fitted out with great little balconies. It is slightly above backpacker range price wise but is an excellent deal especially during low season where you're getting to stay in a mid-range resort at only slightly above budget rates. Rooms are very tastefully decorated and chalets decently spaced out. The restaurant shows a bit more imagination than average.
