Shiwadoi Resort
Great for hobbits

What we say:
A big effort has been made on decor at Shiwadoi and the result is quite cute considering the limited space. Very nice wooden chalets are squeezed into a lush garden with pathways winding in and out of the foliage. It does have a slightly cramped feel and you get the feeling that if a hobbit went on holiday to Pai he'd pick this spot . The odd wooden watchtower gives it a slight POW camp feel though, so imagine US MIAs in a remote communist jungle prison camp with a rescue party led by Bilbo Baggins and you've got the vibe! It's situated off a sidestreet almost opposite the airport, so a little far out of town for convenience sake, and this is a drawback if you don't have your own transport. A variety of accommodation types are offered, all impeccably decorated and well appointed with air-con and hot showers, which you'd expect from the prices. High season prices are a bit steep considering the location but all else aside, their low season rates are very good value.
