Description
About one km up the road to Tham Lod from central Soppong is Rim Doi bungalows, where the informative Ralf and his wife Lek have created a pleasant retreat. To the north, southeast and west of the plot are fields of green, a pleasant stream which runs through the land, and a gorgeous backdrop of teak-laden hills leading off to Burma. The rooms are spacious with hot water decent bathrooms, and built to a decent standard. There are gazebos and chill out areas, and a spacious restaurant which does some decent Thai food. As the resort is new there's not so many large trees or flowers, but over time this place has the potential to be a stunning spot once the garden gets going. There are hill tribes within walking distance, and for further excursions or visiting the cave they will lend you a bike. Call in advance and they'll meet you at the bus station for a free ride.

Little Eden
Soppong
Once called T-rex House, Little Eden is a far more appropriate name for this tiny slice of paradise. The friendly owner, Pen, is a registered tour guide, and her English and German are excellent. With an eye for design and simple, stunning detail, Little Eden is in very good condition with a lovely... more

Baan Cafe Nature Resort
277 Moo 1, Soppong
Baan Cafe Nature Resort offers a choice between rooms in a large house and polished wood bungalows all with balconies overlooking the river. All are extremely clean, with crisp white sheets and small bathrooms with hot shower. Gardens are very well looked after, but the streetside cafe fails to... more

Lemon Hill House
Opposite the bus stop, Soppong
Centrally located across from the bus stop, Lemon Hill has an uninspiring front, but a pleasant back garden leading out to the river. Individual bungalows are in this back area with the most expensive and largest of the rooms overlooking the river itself. Rooms range in size, attractiveness,... more

Lisu Mountain
Outside Soppong
Preferring a basic, natural environment, the Thai/English managers have set Lisu Mountain a long way up a treacherous path in a small Lisu mountain-top village. Difficult to find, one side looks down on a serene lake, the other side views the local village the guesthouse is part of. Pre-erected... more

Charming Home
Soppong
On large dry land which gets muddy in the wet season, and with a stream running past at the base, this is indeed a charming home. Rough wooden huts have a rustic atmosphere -- mattresses on the floor, small balconies looking out towards the stream and natural stone and wood bathrooms with a cold... more

Northern Hill Guesthouse
339 Moo 1 Soppong
The pride of Northern Hill is two rooms which sit atop a hill with balconies looking out over a lovely rice field and roof top view. These are very clean, have a fan, Thai-language TV and bathroom with hot shower. Three other smaller rooms in the same spot have no extra amenities and are not really... more
