What we say:

Away from the lake, but just a five-minute walk from the bus station, the Phayao Northern Lake Hotel has perfectly adequate, well-priced rooms, all with TV, air-con and hot water. The only issue we found was the quality of the bathrooms, which were a bit small and not as clean as you would expect for the price you're paying. Rooms on the upper floors have a better view of the lake, but you will pay for the privilege. Overall, it's an inoffensive albeit generic choice, but if the Tharn Thong is too grubby and Win too hard to find, this may be your next best option for a hotel style bed.
