What we say:

Away from the lake, but just a five-minute walk from the bus station, the Phayao Northern Lake Hotel has perfectly adequate, very well-priced rooms, all with a/c and hot water.

If the Wattana and Tharn Thong are too grubby, this may be your preferred choice.
