What we say:

As a total package, Arunothai Coffee House & Homestay runs a close second to Jumjai a few blocks away in the race for best lakeside homestay award, and some might even prefer it. The wood-floored rooms are quite spacious, especially the bigger ones, and have average sized bathrooms, air-con, fridge and WiFi. Though several of the rooms lack any sort of view, the rooftop balcony has one of the best in town, and offers the perfect locale to enjoy a takeaway dinner from any one of the numerous restaurants nearby. On the ground floor is a good but moderately expensive coffee shop, while the second floor has a sitting area, electronic massage chair (10 baht) and a modest but free breakfast spread in the morning. Overall, the only things holding this homestay back are its slightly higher prices and somewhat second-rate furniture selection, but it is otherwise one of the best to be found in town for the money.
