Description
This hostel used to have a very good restaurant set in what was a lovely garden. But now, an overgrown jungle of weeds covering trash piles of old wood and breeding hordes of savage mosquitos surrounds the building. The private rooms are passable, but the owners have covered the concrete walls with wooden shutters in an attempt to morph it into a Thai house, but the attempt has failed miserably -- the fan-cooled dorms are a better choice. All rooms have cold water only. The YHA surcharge for non-members is generally not charged. The location, a good 20-minute walk from the river, is inconvenient.

We had a double room with private bathroom, spotlessly clean - the walls have wooden cladding and the bathroom is open air but quirky! The courtyard and garden are lovely and the breakfast is good and staff very frienfly. It is a little out of the way but easy to get around by tuk tuk.
