Description
Located about 1km out of Tak's centre, Suansin Garden is best reached by tuk tuk from the bus station. Once at the hotel the staff will help you with maps and transportation into the centre; ideally you'll have your own transport unless you plan to go absolutely nowhere. Fortunately it's the kind of hotel which promotes that kind of lifestyle with gorgeous grounds and a laid back resort feel. Set down a quiet residential road amongst a large garden of palms; this is an ideal retreat if you don't like the pokey city hotels. The rooms are reasonable in size and well tended, and all include TV, fridge, and hot water. A light breakfast of coffee/tea and toast is complementary in the morning.

25/3 Mahadthai Bumrung Rd, Tak
This hotel group actually has two hotels in town, with this being the budget version. Budget doesn't mean run down however, as although this hotel is slightly dated it still has charm and the staff are pleasant and professional. There's a proper lobby to greet guests, an elevator to take you to... more
Sanguanthai Tak
Taksin Rd, Tak
This place is perhaps a step up from the Mae Ping, but don't expect silk sheets! It's cleaner and slightly more visually acceptable, and has a decent location. The rooms are stereotypical cement box jobs, but most rooms have a television which at least provides some colour images to look at rather... more
Mae Ping Hotel
Mahadthai Bumrung Rd, Tak
The Mae Ping is probably the worst place in town, but that doesn't mean it's terrible. Located in the centre of Tak it's identifiable by a wooden shed reception area tucked back off the street, with rooms running down and away from the road in a cement block. The rooms are old and small, and some... more
