Phra Nang Inn

Very popular, close to beach

The Phranang Inn has definitely got character. We found the staff to be really easy-going and accessible -- a welcome relief from the 'too bored and too busy' reception we got elsewhere. The decor here is sort of hard to describe -- the exteriors are sort of Swiss Family Robinson, but the interiors we saw were more Mexican themed, stucco walls and all. The resort has two wings on either side of the main road -- the eastern wing was under extensive renovation on our visit -- a good thing because the rooms we saw on the western side were still charming, but showing signs of age. Still, the place is popular, for good reason -- it's clean and well-managed -- though the pools on either side are hardly stellar, we look forward to seeing how the recent improvements turn out and still classify this place as a good value (for Ao Nang).
