The Princeville has been around for some time and remains a good upscale resort within steps of the beach and the main drag.
The 50 guestrooms are stacked in a couple of three-storey buildings around a small saltwater swimming pool and shady wooden deck where complimentary breakfasts are served. Some rooms are shadowy due to lack of windows apart from the glass doors, but they make up for this with interesting design elements like floors with swirling patterns, soft lighting, traditional Thai prints and sumptuous bathrooms that open through wooden shutters to the rest of the room. The pricier rooms offer loads of space, private seating areas, sea views and classy four-poster beds. All rooms come with LCD TVs, desks, minibars, safes, bathrobes and free WiFi. Some will be turned off by the resort’s tightly packed confines, but the location is excellent. Similar to Phra Nang Inn in terms of setup and price, Princeville provides more privacy thanks to a driveway between the resort itself and the beach road. Rates fluctuate often throughout the year; shop around online for deals.
