Ao Nang Chaba Garden Bungalows
Showing promise

What we say:
This new place is at the end of the road at leads to Green View Village. It was just getting underway on our visit. It offers big bungalows with large porches -- unfurnished when we saw them, but they had a lot of potential. They're in a quiet, scenic location right next to the cliffs, which is a big plus. A restaurant is in the works -- be sure to let us know how it's coming along. Worth checking out as a friendlier alternative to the Green View Village up the road.

Mr. Banana's was fantastic
It has been a while since our stay at Ao Nang, but I thought I'd include the comment nevertheless, this place deserves it! We stayed in a bamboo bungalow on stilts (like the one on the picture), but there are also larger (brick?) bungalows available. There was a big bed with mosquito net and clothes rack and maybe a little night stand as far as furniture goes. It includes a walled-off western style toilet and cold water shower. There is an outside common area with TV that is also a restaurant with simple meals. They offer all kinds of tours (we took the kayaking tour which was great) and are really helpful. They even have motos for rent (I think it was something like 100 baht a day) and laundry service. It is further from the beach though. They have a pick-up truck in which they take their guests to town for free, and you can call to get picked up again (this was probably for a small fee). We very much enjoyed staying here!
