Beach Terrace Hotel

Solid flaspacker digs at the beach

What we say: 3.5 stars

A goood choice for flashpackers and families, the Beach Terrace is one of the cheapest options on the beach road -- and one of the only options with direct beach access. It's located at the far northern end of the beach, almost to Nopphara Thara. The hotel features a small swimming pool and lovely restaurant on a wood deck perched directly over the beach. A single connected floor houses the older rooms, which are cheaper but probably more inspiring than the newer editions back in the main building. They feel like little villas, each with small private courtyards accessed through interesting wood shutter doorways. Inside they're spacious and come with soft beds on raised wood platforms, touches of Thai art and desks, TVs, fridges and safes. The pricier rooms in the main building are brighter, a bit more modern and have private garden porches, but they don't possess the character of the older rooms -- and they're a little further from the beach. The suite bags you a jacuzzi tub and private office. Some rooms on the upper floors have sea views for no extra charge. Staff are friendly and professional and WiFi works in the main building.
