Green Park Bungalow

A family vibe

No pic at the moment -- Sorry!

What we say: 3.5 stars

The Green Park is located right next to Anawin Bungalow and is a very similar set-up -- a handful of concrete bungalows facing a footpath that stretches down a small hill away from the road. This is definitely a family-run spot; when we asked to see a room, the owner handed off a set of keys to a group of five kids aged around four to 10 who showed us around until they got distracted and ran off. Spacious air-con rooms feature springy beds on tile floors with a pattern that twinkles like stars in the night sky. The only other furniture is a tiny desk and plastic table, but there is a TV, fridge, hot water bathroom, electric hot water kettle and sizable porch with a wood bench and bamboo table surrounded by greenery. Fan rooms were full but we were told they're very simple and have hot water bathrooms. The woman who initially greeted us was laid back and friendly, but a man came down afterwards and rather forcefully told us to leave if we couldn't walk down the hill any further unless we planned rent a room -- not sure what his deal was. We spoke to a couple of Canadiens who said that, after a bit of bargaining, they paid a couple of hundred baht less than what we were quoted.
